Justice Gulzar Ahmed takes oath as acting CJP

ISLAMABAD: A senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Gulzar Ahmed sworn in as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan on Thursday.

Justice Mushir Alam administered the oath in a simple and dignified ceremony at the Supreme Court in Islamabad.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the judges of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General of Pakistan, senior lawyers and law officers. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court were also present on the occasion.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed would act as the chief justice during the period when Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khan Khosa would remain abroad.
