ISLAMABAD: District administration of the federal capital has banned soda drinks in all educational institutes in the city.
The ban on carbonated drinks will be applicable to all the educational institutes including schools and Madrassas of Islamabad for two months under section 144.
Before placing the ban, the District administration conducted a voting poll on social media that showed 91 percent voted in favour of banning the drink.
Physicians and nutritionists have suggested that soda contributes to childhood obesity and tooth decay.
