ISLAMABAD: The government and the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) have reached an agreement following successful negotiations, paving the way for the implementation of the fuel relief package announced for petroleum dealers.
According to the PPDA, it was agreed during the talks that payments under the relief package would be transferred directly to the accounts of petroleum dealers through the State Bank. The payment process is expected to be completed within 48 hours.
The association said the government would soon issue an official notification outlining the procedure for disbursing the relief funds.
During the meeting, the Petroleum Minister also assured the dealers that the consultation process with all relevant stakeholders would be made more effective and streamlined in the future.
The agreement has brought an end to the deadlock that had persisted for several days between the government and petroleum dealers, clearing the way for practical implementation of the fuel relief package.
