Indian revocation of IoK’s special status: President, PM express solidarity with Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have condemned the completion of three years of the illegal move by India to change the constitutional status of Occupied Kashmir and expressed solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris.

According to the details, three years ago today on 5 August 2019, India changed the constitutional status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and deprived it of the status of a separate state, and imposed lockdown restrictions on the oppressed Kashmiris. The president and the prime minister condemned the Indian move.

On the completion of three years of India’s illegal action on Occupied Kashmir, the prime minister said in his special message that India is violating UN resolutions and international law including the Fourth Geneva Convention. Occupied India turned the occupied valley into the biggest prison on earth.

President Dr. Arif Alvi also condemned India’s illegal action and said that Pakistan will always stand by their side in the struggle of Kashmiri brothers and sisters, whereas since 5 August 2019, 650 people have been killed in India’s state terrorism.

President Dr. Arif Alvi said that the occupying Indian army could not break the spirit of freedom of Kashmiris while India’s illegal actions are against the resolutions of the United Nations and the Geneva Convention. “We pay tribute to the Kashmiris for their just struggle for the right to self-determination,” he said.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that we pay homage to all Kashmiri martyrs including Burhan Wani. “Until Kashmiris get freedom, not a single Pakistani will sit down from China. Pakistan will continue to provide all possible moral, political and diplomatic support to the oppressed Kashmiris,” he maintained.
