In a significant development, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori unveiled a groundbreaking scheme as part of the “Governor Sindh Initiative,” aimed at providing financial assistance to unemployed youth in Karachi to kick-start their entrepreneurial ventures.
During a press briefing, Governor Tessori revealed that the initiative would offer funding ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs10 million to young individuals with viable business proposals. Encouraging the city’s youth to step forward with their entrepreneurial ideas, he assured them of full financial support and cooperation.
Governor Tessori highlighted the backing of overseas Pakistanis, affluent businessmen, and select non-governmental organizations in providing funds for the city’s youth. Inviting all interested parties to submit their business proposals to the Governor House, he emphasized the vision of empowering educated youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Underlining the importance of transparency and meritocracy, Governor Tessori assured that expert evaluations would determine the feasibility of proposals, with funds allocated accordingly.
However, there are gaps in clarity regarding the application process. Governor Tessori did not specify whether applications should be submitted online or in hard copy to the Governor House. Additionally, the required documentation for the application remains unspecified.
