KARACHI: From the evening of February 25 until the morning of February 27, a new weather system is predicted to engulf the country in rain, snow, winds, and thunderstorms, the Met Office forecast on Friday.
Parts of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab are poised to experience rainy and snowy weather, while southern Sindh may encounter gusty winds during the upcoming period.
In Balochistan, including areas such as Chaghi, Noushki, Kharan, and Panjgur, as well as regions like Gwadar, Awaran, and Khuzdar, the forecast suggests the onset of new weather patterns, particularly with snowfall anticipated in mountainous areas.
Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, snowfall is expected on high ridges, accompanied by intermittent rains and winds that may affect various districts including Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Abbottabad among others.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir regions, spanning from Diamir and Astore to Neelum Valley and Mirpur, are likely to experience intermittent spells of precipitation.

Furthermore, light to moderate rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with snowfall anticipated in hilly areas, are forecasted in regions such as Murree, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha, along with the possibility of isolated hailstorms.
Southern parts of Punjab province are expected to witness cloudy weather with gusty winds on February 25th and 26th.
The Met department has issued warnings regarding potential disruptions to road traffic due to snowfall in northern Balochistan, as well as the risk of flash floods in certain districts on February 26th.
Additionally, transportation routes in various areas including Murree, Naran, Swat, and Skardu may face closures or delays due to snowfall from the evening of February 26th through February 27th.
