The capital city of Pakistan received moderate rain with thunderstorms on Sunday, turning the weather pleasant.
According to media reports, various parts of Islamabad received moderate rainfall, which persisted throughout the day, contributing to a pleasant change in weather conditions. Additionally, the northern areas of the country also witnessed rainfall and thunderstorms.
The Met Office had earlier forecasted hot and dry weather for most parts of the country on Sunday. However, contrary to expectations, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir experienced rain and thunderstorms. Strong winds and gusts were also predicted in the plains during the afternoon.
Looking ahead to Monday, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry in most regions, with particularly high temperatures forecasted for southern areas. Nonetheless, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas may experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers.
Over the past 24 hours, much of the country experienced hot and dry weather conditions. However, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Upper and Central Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and North Balochistan received some relief in the form of wind and thundershowers.
