Four personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC) were martyred and three others were injured in an improved explosive device (IED) blast in the Margate area of Quetta on Friday.
As per media reports, the bomb blast targeted the security forces as they were in the process of disposing of an IED planted in the area.
The martyred security personnel were later identified as Subedar Shahzad Amin, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil, and Sepoy Zahid.
Lance Naik Zafar, Lance Naik Farooq, and Sepoy Khurram Saleem sustained critical injuries in the blast.
They were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility, where their condition was being monitored.
Following the explosion, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate the suspects responsible for the attack. Authorities have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices rendered by four FC personnel while performing their professional duty.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude and courage.
Mohsin Naqvi also prayed for the early recovery of all injured persons.
