KARACHI: Prominent business personality Usman Farooqi, the father of PPP MPA Sharmila Farooqi, has passed away.
Sharmila Farooqi in her Twitter message expressed grief and sorrow over the passing of her father. “Together forever Papa.. your heart will beat with mine,” she said.
Sharmila’s husband Hashaam Riaz Shaikh confirmed his father-in-law’s passing and said the funeral prayers will be held today at Jamia Masjid Rahmania Tariq Road.
Usman Farooqi served as chairman of Pakistan Steel Mills. Former president Asif Ali Zardari and other PPP politicians have condoled over his demise.
