KHAIRPUR: The preliminary medical report over the death of a young domestic worker in Ranipur has confirmed that she was physically tortured and sexually abused.
Police said the medical board has expressed concern that the minor maid who died at the residence of an influential family in Ranipur could be a victim of sexual abuse.
Speaking to media, Sukkur DIG Javed Jiskani said the medical board has expressed fear of sexual abuse on the minor girl. He said the board has confirmed physical violence with the deceased minor girl.
The police officer said it has been decided to remand former SHO Ranipur, Head Mohrar, doctor and compounder in the investigation for their alleged role in the incident.
He said the accused will be booked in the case for negligence, distorting acts, and handing over the victim’s body without conducting the post-mortem.
He said police have issued orders to rescue all the children in the family’s residence immediately and send them to their homes. He said DNA samples of all the men will be taken by setting up a police camp in the accused family’s residence.
Police said the prime suspect, Pir Asad Ali Shah, who is under arrest after being named in the case, was brought to GIMS Hospital for DNA test sample. Police said a few tests were conducted on the accused. Asad Shah is in police custody on four-day physical remand
SHO Ranipur Ameer Chang, Head Mohrar Mohammad Khan and Dr. Fattah Memon and dispenser Imtiaz are in police custody and are being questioned for their negligence in handling the victim’s body.
The case investigation officer said the samples of Fatima’s body have been sent to the laboratory. The minor girl’s grave was exhumed and the samples were collected from the deceased’s body.
He refused to give details before the reports are completed. He said the reports will be made public and no one will get any leniency.
Accused Asad Shah’s blood samples have been taken. He said if the police officers order, they will apply in court to cancel the bail of Hina Shah.
