The disturbing trend of paper leaks and the use of unfair means by students persists amidst Matric examinations in Karachi and other boards.
On Monday, the Mathematics paper for Class 10 was leaked and circulated on WhatsApp groups before the scheduled examination. This latest incident, despite assurances from board members, has sparked renewed concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process.
Regrettably, this isn’t the first instance of a paper being leaked just before the exam this year. Earlier, papers for Computer Science and Physics suffered similar fates, undermining the credibility of the examination system.
The failure of Sindh’s education system to effectively conduct Matric board exams is glaring, with numerous reports of rampant cheating by both students and teachers. Instances of students resorting to impersonation during exams further underscore the systemic decay within the education system.
The repercussions of paper leaks and cheating are dire, as deserving students who diligently prepare for their exams are unfairly disadvantaged. This not only jeopardizes their chances of securing admission to higher education institutions or scholarships but also reflects poorly on the state of public education.
In response to these challenges, students and parents are demanding stringent measures to address the underlying structural issues plaguing board exams. Authorities must take decisive action to restore trust in the examination process and uphold the integrity of the education system.
