It has been revealed that stolen goods are being sold to various junkyards in Karachi.
IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon in this regard said that out of a thousand junkyards in the city, more than 350 are involved in buying and selling stolen goods.
According to the details, IG Sindh presented a report in a meeting on peace and order chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and said that street crimes have been controlled to a great extent, and the police are taking further action.
In the law and order report presented by IG Sindh during the meeting, it was stated that 254 cases of street crimes were reported in January, 252 in February, and 245 in March. Action is being taken against junkyards promoting theft.
IG Sindh said that 77 cases have been registered against 354 junkies involved in the business of stolen goods from Karachi, arrests have also been made, and stolen goods have also been recovered. of
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that the provincial government has released 1.4 billion rupees for the security project. IG Sindh said that CCTV cameras have been installed at 40 of the 48 toll plazas in Karachi, while the rest are yet to be installed. Work is in progress.
