BAHAWALNAGAR: A young man lost his life at the hands of a fake faith healer in Punjab, during an exorcism rite.
Zulqarnain, a resident of the Khai Bodla area of Bahalingar, was taken to a religious doctor to drive away the evil spirits. The fake healer Azhar and his associates tortured the young man on the pretext of exorcising Jinn, as a result of which the young man died.
After the fake perpetrator and his accomplice fled the scene after the youth was killed, the police registered a case and started raids to arrest the accused.
It should be noted that earlier, 5 more people were arrested after a woman was set on fire in Taba Sultanpur village of Khanewal district of Punjab.
According to the police, the fake Peer set the woman on fire on the pretext of expelling Jinn, as a result of which 70 percent of her body was burnt.
The arrested persons have been identified as Iqbal, Rizwan, Manwar, Liaqat, and Ashraf. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code and other provisions of the Penal Code.
