Computer Science paper leak revealed in ongoing Cambridge exam controversy

A fresh development has emerged in the ongoing examination controversy as Cambridge International Education has confirmed that a Computer Science paper was also leaked, widening the scope of the incident that had already involved Mathematics exams.

The revelation has raised further concerns among students and parents as authorities continue their investigation into the breach.

According to an email issued by Cambridge, the leaked Computer Science paper was among the examinations compromised, while earlier the institution had only confirmed the leak of two Mathematics papers.

Cambridge International announced that the Computer Science and Mathematics papers that surfaced on May 12 would not be retaken. Instead, students affected by the leaks will be awarded “assessed marks.”

The examination body explained that these assessed marks would be calculated using the scores obtained in the second components of the respective subjects.

Cambridge further said that the Mathematics examination originally postponed on May 15 has now been rescheduled for June 8.

Meanwhile, Country Head Uzma Yousuf said investigations into the paper leaks are still under way.

The federal government has tasked the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) with probing the alleged leak of Cambridge examination papers, amid growing concern among students and parents across Pakistan. The directive was issued during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha at the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control on Thursday.
