LAHORE: Kot Lakhpat police have arrested a suspect for allegedly assaulting a 22-year-old woman by posing as a fake faith healer (peer) under the pretext of performing spiritual healing (dum). According to a police spokesperson, the suspect was traced and apprehended from Ghaziabad.
The spokesperson revealed that the suspect had been visiting the victim’s house for the past two years under the guise of performing spiritual remedies. He manipulated and assaulted the 22-year-old victim on the pretext of treatment.
Authorities added that the suspect also attempted to manipulate other members of the household. A formal case has been registered against the accused, identified as Shakeel, and the investigation has been transferred to the Gender Cell.
