Israel has shattered all previous records of inhumane atrocities in Gaza. More than 10,000 lives have been lost in Gaza. The lifeless bodies lying beneath the rubble are evidence of the world’s insensitivity. However, Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar Al-Haq Kakar, presented a detailed and articulate case for human rights in an eloquent manner, representing the Muslim Ummah at the summit in Tashkent.
When we compare the statements made by various leaders at the OIC and the UN, it is the first time that the head of a member country of the OIC has delivered such an impactful message. Analyzing the Prime Minister’s statement, it is heartening to see Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar raising the issue of Israel’s accountability in the 16th OIC summit. However, countries like the United States and other Western nations are unlikely to let such accountability happen. Nevertheless, Prime Minister of Pakistan, not only on behalf of the 57 Islamic countries but also representing the voices of the suffering people worldwide, has voiced the concerns of Pakistan’s 220 million people.
While people around the world are busy raising their voices against the ongoing humanitarian atrocities and barbarism in Gaza, more than 30,000 tons of bombs and explosives have been showered upon the Palestinians in Gaza from land, air, and sea. This has shattered the conscience of people worldwide but unfortunately, countries like the United States and others are using their veto power to sustain the brutal bombing in Gaza.
Prime Minister of Pakistan has raised the issue of Gokha Nuts and the plight of the oppressed Palestinians and Kashmiris, representing the Muslim Ummah and advocates of human rights worldwide. However, there might be some consequences at the international level. An OIC meeting is scheduled for November 12, and Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will undoubtedly participate, presenting a strong stance. Despite potential opposition from the United States and Western nations, if the Foreign Office makes an effort, it is possible to convince the US and the West through diplomatic efforts. According to international law (Security Council Resolution 242), Israel is bound to withdraw from the occupied land, and most international laws prohibit bombing children, women, and oppressed Palestinians.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has repeatedly demanded a ceasefire from Israel. Ninety-nine members of the UN have condemned Israel’s brutal bombing. In these circumstances, the role and responsibility of the United Nations have increased further.
Prime Minister of Pakistan has not only accurately reflected the sentiments of the Pakistani nation but has also highlighted the need for planning to face the difficult situations arising due to strong support for Israel from powerful countries. Islamophobia has been a crucial point in Pakistan’s diplomacy for many years. Under Chapter 8 of the UN, the OIC is an important platform where Prime Minister Kakar, by making the world aware of the growing dangers of Islamophobia, has once again brought a new perspective to this issue.
The SCO and the CPEC are robust platforms for regional development and trade. The biggest advantage of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is the inclusion of two major powers, China and Russia, along with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Pakistan in the organization. Turkey, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, and others are members of the SCO. The common objectives of the SCO and the CPEC are increasing their importance and benefits in the changing global scenario. Besides the railway line project, other trade transactions will also continue.
Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar highlighted several issues facing the Muslim Ummah on the platform of the SCO, such as bringing a significant change in the lives of the people sweating in the cheques of Pakistan’s prominent problems. It is recommended that Pakistan’s leaders take serious steps to change the lives of the people sweating in the cheques of Pakistan’s prominent problems, take advantage of the positive opportunities in the region, move towards trade, and formulate practical wisdom for economic improvement.
By putting aside unnecessary opposition and political interests, Pakistan should use the SCO and the CPEC to improve its economic conditions and the condition of the people. There is a lot of talent in our nation, and our youth is strong and determined. They should be utilized; otherwise, these youth will turn pessimistic. Pakistan is a strong and influential country, but we need to rectify our mistakes. Now is the time to pull our youth out of the darkness of despair and show them the light.
Once again, I would like to convey this message to our youth:
میرے دیس کے جوانو ہمت نہ ہارنا
قدرت کا امتحان ہے ہمت نہ ہارنا
نئی نسلوں کے چراغو امید رکھو باقی
یہ ملک ہے تمہارا ہمت نہ ہارنا
خوشحال تم رہو گے سرشار تم رہو گے
دشوار اس گھڑی میں ہمت نہ ہارنا،
میرے دیس کے جوانوں ہمت نہ ہارنا
