ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal has directed the president of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to investigate alleged irregularities in the results of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in Sindh.
In a letter to the PMDC president, the minister directed the council to conduct a detailed review of results from individual MDCAT centres, including the number of candidates, scores, pass rates and unusually high marks.
The investigation will also examine significant variations in results among examination centres, along with attendance sheets, seating plans, centre records and result data.
Kamal further directed the PMDC to review invigilation arrangements and available digital records, as well as allegations involving cheating, unauthorised assistance, impersonation and paper leaks.
The council has also been asked to investigate any possible violations of examination procedures, technical issues or administrative negligence and obtain relevant records concerning the conduct of the examination and compilation of results.
According to the Ministry of Health, responsibility will be determined if any irregularity or malpractice is found to have affected the examination results. The PMDC has been directed to complete the investigation and submit its report within 15 days.
