In a drone strike conducted in Afghanistan’s district Gomal of the Southern province Paktika, eight individuals suspected to be terrorists were reportedly killed, according to a report by Express-News on Sunday.
The targeted strike focused on a vehicle in the mentioned district, resulting in the fatalities of eight occupants. The report specified that the deceased individuals were identified as members of the Zarar Group from Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. Among them, five were reported to belong to the Gandapur tribe, while the remaining three were from the Mahsood tribe.
The report lacked additional details, and no official statement from Afghan authorities regarding the incident has been released yet. Furthermore, the responsible party behind the drone strike remains unclear, with speculation pointing towards either US or Pakistani forces.
In recent times, Pakistan has consistently reiterated its stance on terrorist activities, particularly emphasizing the utilization of Afghan soil by banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to launch attacks against Pakistani forces. Islamabad has urged the leadership in Kabul to take decisive action against these terrorist elements and extradite them to Pakistan for legal proceedings.
