GUJRANWALA: A tanker loaded with oil in an oil warehouse exploded in a city of Punjab, causing severe burn injuries to five people.
According to the details, a fire broke out in an oil warehouse located in the area of Mufiwala near the Sialkot bypass. The situation became alarming when a fire suddenly broke out in the parked oil tanker. The tanker fire soon engulfed two more oil containers and a nearby plastic factory. Five people working in the warehouse were injured due to burns.
The rescue workers reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. The injured were shifted to the hospital in critical condition, where the injured had to be shifted to Lahore due to the absence of a burn center.

The injured are being given medical aid at Lahore General Hospital. Firefighters brought the fire under control in three hours. At least 10 rescue vehicles were involved in the firefighting operation.
The reasons for the fire are not yet known. The incident is under investigation. Officials said that goods worth billions were burnt due to the fire, including petrol and factory equipment.
