The mother of a young maid, Fatima Furiro, who was allegedly murdered by an influential figure, Pir Asad Shah Jeelani, in Sindh’s Ranipur town in 2023, has reportedly reached a settlement with the accused.

As a result, she has requested that the case be dismissed.

Shabnam, Fatima’s mother, submitted a written statement regarding the settlement with Pir Asad, his wife Hina Shah, and other suspects, including Fayyaz Shah and Imtiaz.

The petitioner’s lawyer, Qurban Malano, informed the court that the settlement had been made, and therefore, the case should be dismissed following the granting of bail to the accused.

The court adjourned the hearing after receiving Shabnam’s new plea, rescheduling the case for February 17.

Shabnam left the court after the hearing without speaking to the media.

However, her lawyer confirmed that she had submitted an affidavit to the court, expressing that she would not oppose the dismissal of the case or the granting of bail to the accused.

The next hearing for the bail pleas of the murder suspects has been set for February 7, while the murder case itself will be heard again on February 17.

Fatima Furiro, a young maid, was found dead at Pir Asad Shah’s residence in August 2023.

The case gained widespread attention when disturbing video footage of her severely tortured body circulated on social media. In the video, the injured girl is seen struggling to sit up on her bed before collapsing.
