A college superintendent in Karachi, who fled after stealing the huge amount of female students, fees, rushed to hospital after taking poison in an attempt of suicide.
As per media reports, the superintendent is critical in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, and police have taken him into custody.
The accused has been kept in protective custody in the hospital and a police team has been deployed there. Police said that further legal action will be taken against him after the accused recovers.
According to police sources, the case revolves around Government College for Women, Nazimabad, where the superintendent, identified as Nafees, allegedly fled with over Rs 910,000 in examination fees. In response, law enforcement authorities launched an operation to apprehend him and raided his residence.
Officials from the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) at the Rizvia police station, stated that, fearing imminent arrest, the suspect ingested a poisonous substance. He was immediately shifted to ‘Abbasi Shaheed Hospital’, where doctors managed to cleanse his stomach. As per hospital reports, his condition is now stable and out of danger.
