ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant of Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfiqar Bukhari has chaired a meeting on tourism promotion.
While chairing a meeting at the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) head office, Zulfiqar Bukhari said that the tourism industry could play a significant role in boosting the country’s economy.
While highlighting that the country had been declared among the top 10 tourist destinations of 2020, it was our responsibility to provide a well-managed environment to the visitors.
Bukhari emphasized that for promoting Pakistan’s positive globally, authorities responsible for tourism should unite and work together for the national cause, he added.
Moreover, Advisor to Chief Minister on Tourism Asif Mehmood and TDCP Managing Director Tanveer Jabbar were also present during the meeting.
Earlier on 11th February, Bukhari held a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad where both discussed the current situation of Pakistani students who are stuck in China because of coronavirus disease.
Bukhari briefed the prime minister about the situation and hoped that China would overcome the disease.
However, the prime minister expressed relief over the government’s steps, directed the foreign office to remain in contact with the Pakistani students in China.
