US Vice President JD Vance is expected to attend the next round of Iran-related talks in Pakistan, alongside special envoy Steve Witkoff and presidential adviser Jared Kushner, according to a report by CNN citing the White House.
Iranian sources have indicated that a delegation from Tehran may arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday, although Iranian state media has not officially confirmed participation.
The state-affiliated Fars News Agency said a final decision on Iran’s involvement in the second round of negotiations is still uncertain and has neither been confirmed nor ruled out.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump accused Iran of violating an existing ceasefire arrangement through its actions in a key maritime corridor.
He alleged that Tehran has restricted passage through the Strait of Hormuz, claiming it reflects US “breaches of trust” from Iran’s perspective.
