Instant-messaging platform WhatsApp has been providing more and more capabilities for group admins, giving them more moderation options. However, it looks like the service believes there’s still room for a lot more as admins are usually held responsible for a group’s activities.
WhatsApp is releasing a new feature that will let group admins delete messages for ‘all users’, sent by any of the group member. The feature, already seen on Telegram will give admins more power to regulate the content of their respective groups.
The feature was spotted by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, which says in its report that the feature is currently available to only some beta testers. “WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.12 is marked as compatible update, but some users may be able to get the same feature after installing the previous update as well,” states the feature tracker. WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of the new ‘Admin Delete’ feature. At the start of this year we reported that WhatsApp was working on this feature.
