A 12-year-old student was allegedly subjected to torture by the administration of a private school in Karachi’s Paposh Nagar area. When the parents went to file a complaint, they were also reportedly assaulted by the staff. However, the Directorate of Private Institutions Sindh stated that legal action will be taken once a formal complaint is received.
The school administration claimed that the student was involved in “inappropriate behavior” on campus. However, the student’s mother rejected the allegations, stating that the school management was framing her child with false accusations.
She further alleged that a relative of the teacher had even brought a pistol to school with the intent to intimidate or harm her son.
The Directorate of Private Schools said that they were not yet aware of the incident and had not received any official complaint. They assured that appropriate legal action would be taken once a complaint is filed.
It’s worth noting that a video of the incident went viral on social media a day earlier. In the footage, following the alleged assault on the student, the mother and other female relatives can be seen arriving at the school to file a complaint. The video appears to show teachers and school staff physically pushing and assaulting them on the street.
During a heated exchange in the viral video, one teacher can be heard accusing the student of writing a love letter.
