KARACHI: Temperatures in Karachi are expected to rise from September 13, with the maximum temperature potentially exceeding 36 degrees Celsius, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Anjum Nazir Zaigham, spokesperson and deputy director of the PMD, said a westerly weather system is expected to enter Sindh between September 12 and 13. Under its influence, rain may occur in Tharparkar and adjoining areas.
The weather system could alter wind patterns in Karachi, partially or completely affecting the city’s usual southwesterly sea breeze. The change in wind direction may lead to a rise in temperatures.
According to the PMD spokesperson, there is currently no forecast for rainfall in Karachi under the influence of the westerly system.
The weather department has advised residents to remain mindful of the expected rise in temperatures, particularly during the daytime.
