The United States has resumed routine consular services at its consulates in Lahore and Karachi, restoring visa processing and services for US citizens following a temporary suspension.
In a statement shared on social media on Wednesday, the US Mission in Pakistan said the US Consulate in Lahore has reopened for services to American citizens, while the US Consulate in Karachi has resumed services for US citizens as well as processing of non-immigrant visas.
“Good news for Pakistan! The US Consulates in Lahore and Karachi are open again for routine consular services,” the statement said.
The US Mission advised individuals seeking visa or consular services to visit the official website of the US Embassy for appointment details and further information about available services.
The announcement follows the temporary suspension of operations at the US consulates in Lahore and Karachi earlier this year due to security concerns.
The restoration of routine services is expected to facilitate visa applicants in Pakistan and provide renewed access to consular assistance for US citizens.
