Of course cricket is one of the most popular games in the world, and hundreds of million people of all age groups, including women and children are fond of to play or watch cricket matches. Cricket players are also role models of many people across the world, so they keep a close eye on every act of their role models and take an inspiration from them. In this context, a player is not merely a player, but also an inspirer, a guide and an opinion maker.
So, before becoming a national or an international player one should be fully aware about the above facts, but what we saw in Sharjah during Pak-Afghan cricket match shows that still, neither the players themselves ,nor the management of theirs crickets boards are conscious about the importance and sensitivity of this matter. That is why sometime the players act in a very disgraceful way.
Actually, we want to draw the attention of International Cricket Council (ICC) and different national cricket boards towards the objectionable and shameful gestures of players while celebrating their success during the matches. Many bowlers when take a wicket, particularly when bowled a batsman, celebrate this victory in a very shameful way by making objectionable gesture by moving his arm up and down in a particular way. In general life no one will bear if someone gestures in front of him in this kind of immoral way, but in the cricket world, this is an order of the day. Is cricket really the game of a civilized world? If yes then is should be free from all these immoral gestures.
These gestures not only uncivilized and immoral, but also very provoking and first lead to exchange of harsh words and even scuffle among the players and then between the nation, just like we witnessed in Sharjah a few days back.
So, in this situation it is the responsibility of ICC to make internal cricket free from this kind of shameful actions by making rules against them. Cricket boards should also pay attention towards the issue and educate the players to not resort to disgraceful gestures while celebrating their victory, rather express their feelings in a decent and civilized way.
