The United Kingdom has opened applications for the Chevening Scholarships, the Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship, and the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship for Pakistani students, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
According to the British High Commission, these programs are designed to provide talented Pakistanis with opportunities for higher education, research, professional development, and international networking.
In a statement, the British High Commission said the initiatives aim to give participants access to world-class education, encourage innovative ideas, and help them build strong connections with experts and professionals from around the world.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott said Pakistan is home to immense talent and that these programs equip participants with the skills, networks, and ideas needed to lead institutions, grow businesses, and contribute to solving global challenges.
She also urged applicants to prepare their submissions based on their own experiences, ideas, and future aspirations. Marriott warned that candidates who use AI-generated responses in their applications could face disqualification.
Eligibility Criteria
Students must meet the following baseline criteria to qualify for a Chevening Scholarship:
- Citizenship: Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country (such as Pakistan).
- Work Experience: Have at least 2 years (2,800 hours) of work experience.
- Degree: Hold an undergraduate degree that enables you to gain entry onto a postgraduate program at a UK university.
- Return Commitment: Agree to return to your home country for a minimum of two years after your scholarship ends

A successful Chevening application requires thoughtful preparation and strong personal essays. Applicants must demonstrate their leadership potential, networking skills, as well as academic ambitions.
