In another tragic accident, two motorcyclists were killed in near Ghousia Hotel in Karachi’s Quaidabad area.
According to Chhipa authorities, a speeding coaster collided with the motorcycle, killing both riders on the spot.
Rescue teams immediately transported the bodies to Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased were identified as 25-year-old Lal and 27-year-old Gopi.
Police said the coaster driver fled the scene, and further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The victims were friends and worked in cleaning at an orange factory. Both were residents of Quaidabad, with ancestral roots in Tando Allahyar. Lal was unmarried, while Gopi was a father of two.
According to a spokesperson for Chhipa Foundation, the total number of traffic-related deaths in Karachi so far this year has reached 246, with over 2,500 people injured in traffic accidents.
The spokesperson added that 83 people have died in collisions involving heavy vehicles this year, including 5 in dumper accidents, 37 in trailer collisions, 23 from water tanker accidents, 7 from Mazda collisions, and 11 from bus accidents.
