KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rain in Karachi from September 14.
According to the Met Department, a low-pressure system is currently located over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and the coastal areas of Odisha. The system is also extending over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas and is likely to move westward.
The department said that strong winds, dust storms and intermittent rain are expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal and Tando Muhammad Khan from tomorrow evening until September 16.
Similarly, rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in Sanghar, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jamshoro from September 14 to 16.
The Met Department has also forecast light rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Karachi from September 14 to 16.
Meanwhile, the weather in Karachi is likely to remain hot and humid today and tomorrow, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 36°C and 37°C.
