Two young sisters were injured in a stray dog attack in Manghopir Ramadan Goth.
The number of dog bite incidents is rising in the city as authorities have yet to take effective measures against stray dogs.
The attack near Manghopir Ramadan Goth left 3-year-old Jamila and 8-year-old Hina injured. The girls, who are siblings, were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Chhipa Ambulance, where they received initial medical treatment.
Meanwhile last week, two more people in the province died from rabies: 75-year-old Naimat Gul from Lyari and 10-year-old Lata from Mirpurkhas.
Both patients were admitted to separate hospitals on Monday and succumbed to the disease within 24 hours. This brings the total number of rabies-related deaths in Sindh to six.
Health experts warn that the rising stray dog population and limited access to vaccines are contributing to the increase in rabies cases.
Citizens are urged to exercise caution and seek immediate medical attention and vaccination if bitten or scratched by a dog.
