The highly anticipated trailer of Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid release, Sikandar, has finally arrived. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the trailer teases a full-fledged action entertainer, set to hit the big screen on March 30, as reported by Indian media.
According to reports, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj in key roles. Spanning three minutes and 38 seconds, the trailer, much like the teaser, is packed with two key elements: power-packed dialogues reminiscent of 80s and 90s Bollywood and high-octane action.
Salman Khan portrays a relentless fighter like he did in his past films like Wanted, Kick and Dabangg series on a mission against injustice, while Sathyaraj seems to play a corrupt politician. Rashmika, on the other hand, appears as Salman’s love interest.
Unlike previous Salman Khan films that relied on his stardom, Sikandar appears to be a story-driven film with strong team effort. The trailer delivers a strong mass appeal with intense hand-to-hand action sequences, gunfights, and powerful visuals.
Salman Khan’s changing looks in different action sequences add variety, and the secret weapon shown in the trailer stands out as a unique element. The film does not seem to be a copy-paste remake, as all characters appear fresh and well-integrated into the story.
His screen presence is powerful, and his character is naturally strong without the need for excessive stunts or over-the-top action. The film has received a UA certificate, meaning it doesn’t rely heavily on bloodshed but still maintains impactful action sequences.
According to film critic and Youtuber Deeksha Sharma, the trailer reveals too much about the story in a structured sequence, making it predictable rather than intriguing. Similar to Bollywood’s old trend, the trailer includes too many dialogues, reducing the element of mystery.
Deeksha Sharma states that the pairing of Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna feels weak. While they appear fine individually, their scenes together seem forced and lack natural chemistry. Some visuals and the presence of too many actors give off a Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan vibe, which isn’t a good sign
