ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Rehman Malik has called on the federal government to intensify its efforts against the on-going coronavirus disease.
While talking to the media in Islamabad, Rehman Malik said that the government should take practical steps to prevent the coronavirus disease.
Rehman Malik said that the World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus a pandemic disease but our efforts have been inadequate.
He further added that the cricket matches were not being halted in view of the coronavirus.
According to Malik, the government should stop playing with the health of the people. Section 144 should be enforced nationwide, which prohibits the gathering of more than 10 people, he added.
Malik also demanded that the meetings of the Senate, the National Assembly, and all the provincial assemblies should not be convened until 30 March.
Instead, we should work together to create a national strategy, Rehman suggested.
Rehman Malik said that the government should immediately prepare a national action plan to deal with the possible spread of coronavirus.
