Legendary writer and satirist Anwar Maqsood’s play “House Arrest” is set to resume its run in Islamabad following the reinstatement of its No Objection Certificate (NOC), which had been unexpectedly revoked midway through its scheduled performances.
The production, originally scheduled to run from April 24 to May 9, was abruptly canceled in its second week after KopyKat Productions revealed that their NOC had been withdrawn.
Subsequently, Anwar Maqsood made a public appeal to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging him to reinstate the NOC. In a video message, Maqsood introduced himself modestly: “My name is Anwar Maqsood, and I’ve been writing for you for the past 66 years. You have also honored me with awards for my work.” He described the situation but refrained from commenting on the reasons behind the revocation.

Just hours later, the production house announced that the NOC had been reissued and the performances would resume.
“Islamabad, we’re back! House Arrest is officially returning. Our NOC is reinstated and the shows are back on. New dates are live, so grab your tickets on BookMe,” read the announcement on KopyKat’s official Instagram page.
The play will now be staged from May 6 to May 9.
