The suspension of flight operations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport has been extended until midnight, according to the latest Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
Airport authorities confirmed that the closure, initially in effect from 11:00 AM due to operational reasons, has now been prolonged by an additional six hours.
The extended shutdown has left numerous international flights grounded. Aircraft from Qatar Airways, Jazeera Airways, Air Arabia, and FlyDubai have been waiting on the tarmac for over ten hours.
The disruption has resulted in the cancellation of 43 scheduled flights from Karachi, while 65 other flights remain in a state of uncertainty.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) reported that flight operations have resumed at Lahore, Islamabad, and Sialkot airports. However, Karachi Airport continues to be affected by the airspace restrictions, which are believed to be linked to heightened regional tensions between Pakistan and India.
