Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor for Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has claimed that former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif wished for the failure of negotiations between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government. For this purpose, he allegedly assigned a mission to his team to sabotage the talks.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the advisor claimed that following a meeting between PTI leaders and military leadership, there was chaos in Nawaz Sharif’s camp. “There is information that Nawaz Sharif has assigned a mission to his team to foil the dialogue,” he added.
Saif further claimed that some elements had become active to render the government’s negotiating team ineffective, as these elements did not want political stability in the country. He went on to say that PTI is committed to dialogue to secure peace in the country, while the unelected group was on a mission to foil the talks to safeguard its illegal government.
He urged government ministers to respect their oath and not use the meeting between PTI leaders and the Army Chief for political gain.
It should be noted that the dialogue between the government and PTI has entered its decisive phase, as the latter presented its charter of demands in writing during the third round of talks two days ago. However, some PML-N leaders have claimed that the government has rejected these demands, although no official statement has been issued so far.
