Karachi is bracing for continued cold weather as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts further temperature drops in the coming days. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range between 10°C and 12°C until January 19, with strong winds predicted to intensify the chill on January 17.
Currently, the city is experiencing a temperature of 12°C, with a daytime high of around 26°C. Humidity is at 70%, and winds are blowing from the northeast at 11 km/h. The PMD has urged residents to prepare for even cooler weather as the cold wave persists.
Meanwhile, cold and dry conditions are expected across most of Pakistan in the next 24 hours. Dense fog is likely to affect Punjab and Upper Sindh during the mornings and nights, while isolated rain and snowfall are forecast for northwestern Balochistan. Other regions like Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan will also experience intense cold weather.
Citizens, particularly in fog-prone and high-altitude areas, are advised to take necessary precautions as winter conditions continue to affect the region.
