KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday visited Mirpurkhas to review the flood situation in Sindh.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail also accompanied him. The president took an aerial view of the flood-affected areas and also visited a temporary camp set up for the victims.
Addressing at a ration distribution ceremony, the president said protection of rights of people and providing assistance in critical hours is the main responsibility of the state.
The president appreciated the role of NGOs working in Badin, Sanghar, Sukkur and other parts of Sindh for their relief activities. He said Pakistan has set an example in defeating the cronavirus pandemic through its smart lockdown strategy.
