Karachi’s largest cattle market has begun to take shape at the Northern Bypass, and it will be formally inaugurated on Saturday (today), as reported by national media.
According to details, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab will inaugurate the cattle market, which spans over 1,200 acres. Parking rates at the market have been reduced by 50%.
Administrator of the cattle market, Shahab Ali, stated that compared to last year, passes for motorcycles and cars will be available at 50% lower prices, while animal medicines will also be provided at half the cost.
The administration states that more than 20 security checkpoints will be set up along the market routes. Shahab Ali further said that 200 animals have been brought to the market so far.
It is worth mentioning that the significance of the cattle market in Karachi increases as Eid-ul-Azha approaches. Citizens bring their children along when visiting the market to buy animals.
Bargaining with the traders for purchasing animals is considered an art. Karachi residents state that bringing a halal animal home before Eid-ul-Azha and taking care of it is an important tradition.
