SAHIWAL: Tightening the noose around elements exploiting innocent citizens dreaming of employment abroad, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle has arrested a suspect involved in visa fraud.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested individual has been identified as Shahid Afzal. Following preliminary investigations, a formal case has been registered against the suspect under the relevant sections of the Immigration Ordinance.
According to details, the suspect lured an unsuspecting citizen into paying Rs800,000 under the pretext of arranging a work visa for the Gulf state of Qatar, after which he went into hiding.
FIA officials stated that initial investigations revealed this was not Shahid Afzal’s first offense. He has allegedly been involved in a series of heinous scams, trapping multiple other citizens by dangling false promises of lucrative overseas employment and extorting heavy amounts from them.
