NEW YORK: Gold prices remained largely unchanged in global bullion markets on Wednesday as investors awaited the latest US inflation data for clues about the Federal Reserve’s future interest rate policy.
Spot gold held steady at $4,159.45 per ounce as of 0251 GMT. Meanwhile, US gold futures for December delivery rose 0.1% to $4,182.60 per ounce.
Among other precious metals, spot silver fell 0.6% to $59.11 per ounce, while platinum remained unchanged at $1,664.19 per ounce.
In contrast, palladium gained 0.4% to reach $1,130.81 per ounce.
Market participants are closely monitoring the upcoming US inflation figures, as the data could influence expectations for the Federal Reserve’s future interest rate decisions. Any shift in those expectations could trigger price movements across gold and other precious metals markets.
