Karachi: cooperation agreement with China’s Guangzhou Great Power Energy and Technology to explore opportunities for expanding into the energy storage technology sector.
According to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday, the agreement will facilitate an assessment of the potential for phased local assembly of advanced lithium batteries and energy storage systems in Pakistan.

The proposed initiative covers a range of applications, including battery packs for residential and commercial use, industrial energy storage systems, data centres, artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and battery systems related to electric vehicles.
QTech said the collaboration forms part of its broader strategy to expand its business operations and enhance long-term shareholder value. The company also highlighted the importance of reliable electricity supply and energy security in supporting the development and adoption of advanced technologies.
Guangzhou Great Power Energy and Technology is engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and sale of lithium batteries and energy storage solutions. Its products serve various sectors, including energy storage, new energy vehicles and smart home technologies.
Established in Pakistan on January 31, 1988, Quantum Data Technologies Limited was incorporated as a public limited company. Its principal business activities include information technology (IT) and related services.
The proposed local assembly initiative remains subject to further assessment and subsequent developments. The agreement does not, by itself, confirm the commencement of local assembly or commercial production in Pakistan.
