SWAT: In a significant development in the health sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the administration of Saidu Sharif Hospital in Swat has barred six Afghan doctors from continuing their house jobs.
According to hospital sources, the action was taken in response to an official communication received from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
The hospital administration has directed the six Afghan doctors to vacate their hostel accommodation immediately and leave Pakistan. Hospital officials said the decisions were taken to ensure compliance with the directives of the federal government and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
In a separate development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has issued an official notification dismissing 30 doctors serving at various hospitals and healthcare facilities across the province.
According to details provided by the Health Department, the dismissed doctors were accused of holding allegedly fake PMDC registrations and occupying their positions through irregular appointments.
All 30 doctors had been posted at various government healthcare facilities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
