ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Prime Minister has sought proposals from the provincial governments to reduce wheat prices.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan in a series of tweets said that through the prime minister’s orders of the crackdown against the wheat smuggling, the citizen would be relieved soon.
She said Imran Khan had directed authorities to reduce prices of petrol, diesel, and gas. The aim was to provide relief to people and redress their grievances, she added.
According to Awan, this is a practical step to save the national economy from losses of billions of rupees.
The special assistant further said that hoarding was an enemy of a transparent economy, and hence cannot be allowed.
Awan added that the people had to bear the burden of the previous governments’ decisions regarding electricity and gas.
