KARACHI: Pakistan will begin trial exports of locally manufactured vehicles to Bangladesh this month.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in July between a Pakistani automotive company and a Bangladeshi business group for the export of 5,000 vehicles. Under the agreement, 100 vehicles will be exported to Bangladesh on a trial basis this year, while large-scale exports are planned to begin next year.

Two MG models manufactured in Pakistan in collaboration with SAIC Motor China will be exported to Bangladesh.

According to the company, the initiative marks a significant step toward promoting Pakistan’s automotive exports. A Pakistani engineering team will also provide technical support in Bangladesh for vehicle assembly, General Assembly (GA), and quality control.
