KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 267,428 in Pakistan, while the death toll stands at 5,677.
According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 1,332 cases of coronavirus were reported while 38 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
As many as 51,283 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment while 210,468 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases. At least 17,76,882 tests have been conducted across the country so far.

The total number of infections in Punjab stands at 90,816, Sindh 114,104, 32,523 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,469 in Balochistan, 14,701 in Islamabad, 1,937 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,878 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Out of a total of 5,677 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 1,153 deaths, Sindh 2,041, Punjab 2,095, Balochistan 135, Gilgit-Baltistan 45, Azad Kashmir 47, and Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 162 deaths.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan reported slightly over 1,000 new cases of the coronavirus, the lowest daily figure in the last three months. The global pandemic claimed nearly 610,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since it has originated in China last December.
The US, Brazil, India, and Russia are currently the worst-hit countries in the world.
