ISLAMABAD: Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will chair the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting today.
According to sources, a three-point agenda will be considered at the meeting. The meeting will review the economic situation of the country. A summary of the establishment of Balochistan Mineral Exploration Company Limited will be considered in the meeting.
A review of the notification of tobacco prices will also be on the agenda. The Corona relief package will also be reviewed at the ECC meeting.
The last meeting of the ECC Committee approved measures to reduce the prices of wheat and flour in the country. Moreover, The meeting, chaired by Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh, had allowed the private sector to import wheat. The ECC had directed Punjab to provide wheat to other provinces as required.

The ECC meeting approved tax exemption on oxygen and cylinders for the health sector. The meeting also approved giving concessions for three months to control the prices of oxygen cylinders and giving a supplementary grant of Rs 2.5 billion to the CDA.
The meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee also approved a supplementary grant of Rs. 40 crore for Islamabad Police and a supplementary grant for Pakistan Navy.
