ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the German organization WeltHungerhilfe have agreed to promote mutual cooperation in dealing with natural disasters.
According to the details, Ayesha Jamshed, the country director of the German organization Welt Hunger Help in Pakistan, met the Chairman NDMA Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik and discussed the issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, various methods of managing food security in view of the recent floods in Pakistan were discussed. Sustainable models of disaster management for the protection of vulnerable sections were also considered. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman NDMA said that a training program should be organized for climate experts. NDMA and the German organization agreed on collaborative training programmes.

It should be noted that earlier, more than 1,700 people died as a result of recent floods in Pakistan. Several people were injured and millions of livestock were killed. Millions of acres of standing crops were destroyed.
Other organizations including NDMA participated in the activities to help the people. The armed forces of Pakistan also conducted operations to help the flood victims, but the complete rehabilitation of the flood victims could not be done yet.
