KARACHI: The prices of petroleum products are expected to decrease in Pakistan, due to the downward trend in oil prices in the international market.
In the global market, the prices of diesel and petrol have decreased by 4.3 dollars per barrel and 1.86 dollars per barrel respectively due to which the prices are expected to decrease by Rs7.85 paisa and Rs 3.75 paisa respectively.
In the international market, the price of diesel per barrel is now 104.76 dollars and the price of petrol is 107.16 dollars.
he Geo News report, oil industry experts say that there is a trend of decreasing prices of petroleum products in the global market. If this effect is transmitted locally, the local price of petroleum products may also decrease.
On April 15, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs 4.53 per liter, after which it was Rs 293.94 per liter. The price of high-speed diesel rose by Rs 8.14 per liter to Rs 290.38 per liter.
Every 15 days, the government reviews and revises the prices of petroleum products in response to changes in global oil prices and local currency values.
Since the last price adjustment, the rupee has depreciated somewhat against the dollar.
